Does anyone know the clearance on these boards for CPU fans? The fan I'm looking at has a 69mm diameter. I don't know how much bigger that is than the standard Orb, but I've been told the Abit boards can be a pain to get a good cooler on. Thanks.

Your Orb will fit fine. The KT7-KG7 will take up to an 80mmx80mm HSF. Just take your time putting that thing on. Orb's aren't the easiest HSFs to attach.

I wouldnt use that Orb if I were you...they are the culprit of many crushed Athlons. I myself damaged the die if the cpu trying to install one of those dang Orbs....

This isn't a thermaltake orb. It's some other company. I've got a socket7 orb that won't even fit on the stupid thing right, I'm not going to buy a Socket A one. :P I was looking at a few of the other coolers. Some of the all copper or high flow aluminum square sinks look pretty good, though expensive. Thanks for the info!

I would like to now why everyone puts the Super Orb down i have one on my KT7A raid mobo with a 1.4 gig @ now 1597 1.85 volts 36c idle and never gets to more than 52c under full load

And as far as installing it on the KT7A mobo it was no big deal ya the compacetors are in the way of the orb but if you get smart and look at it a little closer you will see that you can install it the with the locking clip faceing the compasetors and you will never hurt that cpu at all i have built more than 100 sys with the orb and the KT7A mobo and have never even come close to crushing the die on the cpu

Hope this will help you out

Slight shift in topic:

Anyone know of a PIII Coppermine cooler that will fit on an AOpen AX34?

There is hardly space around the socket

Whir, do yourself a favor and go over to "theoverclockerzstore.com". I got one of their Gladiators with the delta fan and it is by far the best heatsink I have owned. I am using orbs and coolmasters and others as paperweights right now.
Oh I forgot it's on a kt7a right now.
