I just bought a Soyo SY-6VBA133 w/ a PIII 600, 256mb ram, 19inch monitor, and now need a recommendation on a sound card that will work with windows 2000. I mainly use the computer for webdesign but some game play such as quake and half-life are used also. I am looking for a pci sound card that can handle DVD sound and games. I do not need tv outputs other than for speakers but any add ons are welcome. Price is not really a big factor, just compatibility.

Thanks

THe SOund Blaster Live card works great. YOu will have to download drivers from their site.

most sound blasters work fine too. i had an awe 64 value and live. both worked fine. go look at M$'s site it has a list of compatible hardware.
