I just got a Epox 8K7A and am running a 1.4 TBird on it. So far it has been great and it only cost 120 bucks from newegg.com. The 8K7A+ adds raid support for about $20 more.

Well, the ECS k7s5a has the SIS735 chipset, which has been proven faster than the other chipsets for AMD Athlon. While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, it's a kick *** board for $65.

I'll put in a 3rd for the ECS K7S5A. No real problems here. With the beta bios I'm running CPU/Bus at 150/150 with a FOP 32 and a 7.5X multiplier.

Mine has been stable, fast, and has plenty of PCI slots, not bad for a dirt cheap board.

Sam, how did you get 150/150 to work? Mine crashes.

What cpu? memory? memory settings?

I just used the same settings I was before, ultra timing, cas2, and the CPU is a 1.0 ghz athlon C, ARGA stepping.

I didn't figure it would overclock at all, but it seems to be stable at default voltage.

I did turn it all back down to 1 ghz this morning because I was trying to get hooked up at school and couldn't get the network fixed, but it was just a bad cable.

Have you tried putting memory timings down to their lowest (and highest) settings?
