I am considering buying a cd burner to convert records and tapes to cd format. I have looked at the HP8250 and Teac 54E and 56S any working knowledge of these units?

Also on the hookup I assume you take the left and right channels out the about units or from the amp and run them to the audio card. Problem my audio card only has on input line does mean i have to purchase a new audio card I am currenly useing Soundblaster AWE64.

Do the units come with all the software/hardware that is needed to do the job or additional items needed? tks

If you have an out put on the stereo you can do it. Either you will have RCA outputs or use a headphone out put to do it. You will need an stereo adapter the will convert rcas to a 1/8" jack or an adapter to convert 1/4" jack to 1/8".
You will have to plug it into your line input on the sound card. This is why you need a stereo adapter.
