No, you neither have that buggy IDE controller nor that old first-generation Intel PCI chipset.

You have VIA's KT133A and 686B chipset, and maybe a much more modern extra IDE controller.

I have an asus a7v mb and I don't think I have a PC-Technologies RZ1000 IDE chip or a "Neptune" chip, but I just want to make sure. Isn't this obsolete? Thanks.

Just a small correction, its the KT133 and 686A that the original A7V has. The A7V-133 has the KT133A and 686B.

As for the more modern extra IDE controller, it is the PDC20265 ATA100 from Promise.

BTW, what made you think you got either of these chipsets?

I didn't think I had either chipset. A quick confirm on Asus' web site just confused me even more and I needed to be sure I don't have them.

Thanks for the info.
