With more and more computer systems being used as desktop theatres and true gaming rigs, why isn't there a multimedia forum here to talk about the latest sound cards, speaker systems, DVD drives & decoders, etc. How to setup a surround sound system, SB live! vs. SQ2500, Cambridge Soundworks vs. Labtec surround speaker kits, hitachi vs. toshiba DVDs, etc.

I'm eager to upgrade my computer to a desktop theatre and I would like to get input from members here.

very good point to listen too. he he. the #1 sysopt has everything else for it's members. and it would also be good for all those cd-rom/sound drivers questions you stated about.

I remember a thread asking for this before, And I believe scott and the group all had an opinion on it...lemme try to find it....

I'll consider other ideas but the more forums we get, the longer it will take for people's questions to get answered in those forums because the less traffic each one will receive. Plus, it will take you a really long time to go through all of the forums that you're interested in to look at the new posts.

But I agree. A multimedia forum would be nice, but I won't hold my breath http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

ahhh a home for sound cards at last... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Now where do we put storage and printers?
I'm not sure if UBB can handle another tree level - it would be quite nice to click on Tech Support and then be able to pick from AV/power/storage/modems/whatever. I don't know what other members would say to navigating an extra level though...

I still say break up the CPU and overclocking into AMD and Pentium.
