Here is my problem. My friend set a password to enter the BIOS and to startup the computer. They are the same password. Well, he called me up and told me that he forgot the password and he can't get on his comp. He gets all funny about it when I mention just taking the battery out and letting the CMOS clear. He can't remember it for the life of him and really needs to get in. Aren't there some kind of backdoors the manufactuers put into the BIOS so they can get in or something? I don't know much about the comp except its an AMI bios. I'll get more info later. Someone please help.

Clear CMOS jumper. What you will do is find the jumber(In the MB manual) and set it to clear. You will the turn the PC on. You will then turn the PC off and put the jumper back to its normal position.

Good Luck.

Ok. Like I said before. He gets all funny when I even talk about going inside his computer. Its and old comp and therefore isn't under warranty. Are there any other ideas other than letting him take it to a shop and pay tons of cash for something I could easily do?

In my opinion, you friend has two choices;

1) Make an appointment with a hypnotist to help him remember

or

2) do what Nick said
