Password on cmos

I have a 4510 powerspec, I fomatted th HD and and when the I reboot from the 98 911 disk it asks for a password at the cmos screen

To get rid of the password you are going to need to clear the cmos. This can be done via jumper or by removing the battery on the motherboard. Check you motherboard to see if you can find the cmos jumper because it's the easiest method.

If you find the jumper it will be 3 pins most like sitting on 1-2. To clear the cmos change the jumper to the 2-3 positon keep it there for about 10 seconds and then move it back to the 1-2 position. If you cannot find the jumper just remove the battery on the motherboard for a couple of minutes then place it back.

Like jaida says, you need to clear the CMOS. If you remove the battery and it does not work, then you must leave it out for a longer period.

when you clear the cmos make sure the power is off/ disconnected as you can cause damage to your motherboard
