i have one of those motherboards where I don't know the name (amd k62, 333 mhz) and the manual says good for 33mh, 66mh and 100 mhz, or something like that. Default is 66.

What section in the bios can i change it to 100mhz? It's OEM, so the manual instructions aren't very clear.

Hey, if i take a pic of the motherboard and stick it in this board, could somebody tell me what it is/ I've never seen a picture of it anywhere else. The computer was made my Tatung.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some of my mobo #'s:

bios - 10/22/98 vp3-586b-w877-2a5let7ac-00 ver 451pg
chipset mvp3 vt82c597
model of mainboard -{3156} ax01-0

hope this helps
thx

This is not a positive ID for your board, but looks very promising. It is almost exactly the model shown at Winsbios site http://www.wimsbios.com/ you can go to the site and check for yourself, but from the bios string you posted, here is what I found:

xx/xx/xxxx-VP3-586B-W877-2A5LECS9C-00: Gainward 5VPA

Gainward being the mainboard manufacturer.

You will find that the bus speeds are jumper controlled I think. I have only seen Abit boards using the 'soft menu' for bios bus setting in the past, but that is now becomming very popular for most all mainboard manufacturers.

I doubt seriously if a picture of your board would help anybody ID it.

I did a search for Gainward, and came up empty handed. Google gave me a few links to Gainward, all of which are dead...so, the company may have gone south with many others in the recent high tech failures.

If you have a manual for the board, your best bet is to look for jumpers that control bus speeds. It will also take older EDO type of ram...the newer high denisty ram probably will not work. (some older boards do, many do not)
