Every time someone tries to DL music from me, Napster locks up. I don't want to be a jerk and set my DL's to 0 per user but what else can I do?
Thanks for any info.
I am using the current Napster with cable internet running BID and Zone Alarm (both current)
Thanks

Set the U/L directory to a false directory.
He just said he didn't want to be a jerk. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
I'd probably try re-starting windows...and if it keeps happening, I'd re-install napster. Ha, pretty technical advice huh?

LOL Seti. Thanks. Tried to reinstall and reboot and got the same thing. Could be related to Napster's server going down. It was down last night for a long time and it just knocked me off and is down. So... Could be b/c it is beta as well. I've noticed a few bugs. Not complaining though. I just got the whole new Primus album I have been eyeing for a while. Should've bought it earlier b/c it is pretty good. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Thanks

Primus...bowp chickedy bowp bowp! Geesh, bass is hard to translate into text. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Ha, well next I would do a format and a clean windows install. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif jk.
I've been on napster today, um...got a band called belvedere's album. I looked for it in stores...I did, but no luck. The only problem I've had with napster is that before beta 5 I could never get more than 100 search results.

I found a guy that had about 250 Primus bootlegs form concerts. Looks like he followed the Bob around and recorded all of their shows.
A Tip:
Don't try to DL 250 songs at one time. Napster doesn't like it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I set my uploads to a false directory. You calling me a jerk?
Ha, well I don't know you so I wouldn't dare...but I don't think it's too cool when people block downloads...it completely defeats the point. What if everybody did that? Napster would collaps under the weight of bandwidth greed, so why should anyone do it? I think Napster should make everyone play fair in the next beta. Anyway, I'm not calling you a jerk...but almost everyone is nice enough to share and you're not...I'm sure you have justification. It's not a big deal, I just think it's silly...but then again, I have cable and a few uploads really has no effect on me. I don't share all my mp3's, because then I just get too many uploads...I share about 300. I always download from people one song at a time as well. I don't do these things because they're enforced rules, I do them because otherwise I feel like a jerk.

I'm sure you have justification.LOL seti, no I'm just being a jerk http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif. There could be justification for it, though. Perhaps I only D/L legal mp3's (you know the ones by startup / coffee shop artists) and keep my "backup CD" mp3's in the same directory that I don't wish to share. Fat chance but possible...

Never thought of it that way Seti. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/redface.gif First time I tried to do more than i or 2 songs from one guy. Makes sense though.
