I've been married 17 years today!!!

And I almost missed celebrating it because so much extraneous **** happens in your life that you tend to forget the important things, like your marriage!!! Not that she'd be mad...she'd understand and probably have been silently hurt/disappointed and put up a bold front.

Well, I just made reservations for dinner at a quiet little Inn way in the woods here in Massachusetts, then I'm going to whisk herself up to Maine for a few days. SHE probably thinks I didn't remember...but she's at a baby shower so whilst the cat's away...you know!

And I did get her a small bauble to wear as a memento of putting up with me for lo' these years. However, I almost let the day slip by without my notice...the days just seem to go one into the next, lately!

I met her on the high-school bus (we both went to high schools 20+ miles from home and had to take a rather long bus trip each day) when we were in our teens -- she was my first love, and we've been through A LOT together. And at the end of the day I have NO REGRETS or couldn't picture myself without her!

Happy, Happy. Joy, Joy!!!

Congratulations! So many people don't make it that far in their life together. I met my wife at a McDonald's and we married whist still in high school. So many people said it would not last. But here we are 12 years and 3 kids later and still going strong. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

tonym and mntsnow, all other distinguished married people.... wow! I have to say congrats! It is difficult to always understand the girlfriend, how do you understand/relate to your wives so successfully?

May you two have another 17 (or more) years of happiness together! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Even though I'm not quite up to the marriage age yet (just turned 16), I understand how important it is. My parents have been married for about 25 years now. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

We just passed the 17 yr mark on 4/23. Didn't really do anything special this year, just went out to dinner w/o the kids. Rare for us. Gave her the choice where to go & she chose a family steakhouse. Go figure!

Apostle, you're better off once you realize you'll never really understand her. Works both ways, though. They don't understand us either!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
