I'm going to build a new computer and I'm in need of a socket A motherboard which meets these requirements:

Under or very close to $140.00 US
DDR or SD-ram
Audio onboard
Able to support all higher speed socket A AMD 1.2-1.4GHz
Highly overclockable

Thanks for your help http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.

Hawkeye:
I'm finally putting together and almost completed my system using the Asus A7M266 mobo which is the AMD 760 chipset.A little pricey at $150-$160,but seems to be running
well,(not overclocked yet),with a 1.33GHz T-Bird(266) and 2 x 256MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM from
Crucial,which,at $41+change per stick direct
from Crucial,remains an excellent deal.
Just received an IBM 40 GB 7200 HDD from www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com) for $105 + $10 Fedex Saver.

I've heard good reviews about the Epox mobos
and will be building a system shortly. Also
got it from newegg.($108-$120)

I hope this helps.

Hawkeye - I'm also using the A7A266. I am more than impressed (except it does like all Athalons - runs hot - 52ºc idle).

I settled on this board because of 2 DDR slots available and 3 SDRAM slots available. Course you can only use either SDRAM OR DDR.

As far as overclocking check out this link:
http://www.dansdata.com/a7ahack.htm Don't worry about the soldering bit - Dan must've gotten one of the first boards out. They now ship with the #10 switch and BIOS v1004. I've seen at Sysopt that some people have taken a 1.3 past 1.5 and remain stable on this board - sorry, I forget when or I'd link it. Couldn't have been too long ago though.

Good luck!
