Bought mine new about two weeks ago on Ebay. Have had no problems with mine. I'm running with the ATI All in Wonder Video Card (stereo television on monitor is really cool)and a 650 duron processor, I will start to overclock as soon as I have a spare processor to replace the one that I have. It will be hard to damage the processor though with safety feature in BIOS enabled. If processor overheats, I believe the system will auto shut down.

Pete1,
Glad to here it! According to some guidelines I read this mobo has everything you should have on a board.
Great news, thats what I wanted to here.
Thanks jkac123

Over the last 6-8 months I've built 13 systems on the K7VTA, K7VTA-B, and K7VTA Pro boards, with processors varying from a 700 Duron up to a 1.2GHz T-Bird, and haven't had a single problem with any of them.
They are rock solid stable and as reliable as a hammer.
I've used SOYO boards exclusively for all my builds for the last 3 years (which is well over 100 machines) and have yet to see a defective one.
Until something better comes along, I'll stick with them.
Enjoy your new board, and most of all, HAVE FUN building your new machine!
Best regards & good luck! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

lost1,
Sound teriffic!
I like to hear that you had so much success with it. It is my 1st attemt at any board, however as I stated it really sounded like it had more then some of the other boards had to offer. It did cost a few bucks more , but everyting in life cost's! I appretiate your reply http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

The board shut down because of the safety feature that is built into it. I think your
processor was overheating. Heatsink and fan properly installed?

Overclocking?
Check the jumper cpu ratio
good luck

Zaknafien: Do you have your CPU fan plugged in to the CPUFAN1 (this is required)? It's the fan socket closest to the memory slots. Does your CPU fan have three wires? This is also required as this motherboard uses the RPM lead to determine wether or not the fan is on, or not. If it can not detect a signal on the RPM lead on the CPUFAN1 socket the system is shut down almost immediately to prevent the CPU from burning up. Also, if you can find a bios reference it may have a beep code chart that will help you to understand what the beeping is indicating.
jkac123: I've been running a K7VTA-B for over six months in the following configuration:
Duron 800 overclocked to 1Gig
(Agilent Arcticooler CPU Heatsink/fan)
three sticks generic 128Meg PC133 CAS 3 Memory
ATI Rage Fury Pro (32Meg 4X AGP) Video
Western Digital WD450AA Hard Drive
Pioneer DVD106S DVD Rom drive
Windows 2000 Professional
My system runs absolutely stable. I have had no problems with it whatsoever. I found a great combo deal on it over six months ago, and I figured I'd take a chance (I had never used a Soyo motherboard before.) I am very pleased with it's performance.

Haroldw,
Its been awhile now regarding the 800 duron overclocked to 1 gig. How is it doing? My boards are fine , i have two, one 800 duron and one t-bird 900
Anyone looking here thinking about buying a new mobo, might be worth looking at the VIA 266A board SOYO K7VXA - 2AA1
