I have a problem-I keep getting fatal exceptions{BSOD} Specifically:Exception OE at 0028:C001539A in VxD----called from 002:C183A044 in VxD. I am also getting frequent PnP fatal exceptions.

I have checked all the Windows help sites {Nathans too} and Microsoft library -can't find a match for this exception.

But, I found a conflict in system-device manager-system devices:IO read data port for ISA Plug and Play enumerator Under the resource tab it says-"The resources this device is using does not match any of its known configurations. To assign resources manually for this device click Configuration Manually"

Two conflicting devices are listed 1. Input\output range 0374-0377 used by secondary IDE controller{dual fifo}and 2. Input\output range 0374-0377 used by Intel 82371AB\EB PCI Bus master IDE Controller.

And under Resources type -Input\Output Range 0374-0377 has a red circle with a line through it.

I am running W98-64MB SDRAM-351 CPU-Award Bios v.4.51 PG(7-21-98)

What exact changes to I have to make to the CMOS\Bios configurations?

Thank You in advavce http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Need more info,is this a socket 7 system or a slot system?Sounds like you need to install the proper drivers for the controllers. Also might try disabling any ports you are not using in the bios, serial and parallel. Is your bios set to plug and play os?Make sure that you do not have any irq's on reserve. The red circle means that device is disabled.Pls give us the motherboard type, cpu, hardrives, etc.

Also to clarify-when I click on resources for IO read data port for ISA PnP enunmerator
no conflicts are listed-it says there is a problem with the configuration-when I click on configure manually-conflicts listed.

I am confused though-these are supposed to be "Shared" IRQs-right?

Well, I figured out how to fix this configuration problem-after days of re-installing drivers http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif Here's the fix--system-device manager-Intel 82371AB\EB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller-properties-settings-set to: Both IDE Channels enabled-All better now http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
