Hey all, alright I have 2 questions.

1) Do CDroms have to run at ata33?? Can I use an ATA66 cable on them? And if so, would it show any significan performance increase (I doubt it but i'm asking anywayz).

2) Does anybody know if the ATA100 on the A7V supports CD-rom drives??

1) An ATA-66 cable is just an ATA-33 cable with more ground wires. My CD-ROM ran fine on one (as does my zip drive, etc.). The cable just lets your system send more data through it. There will be no performance difference.

2) It should, since the controllers for IDE devices are integrated into the device (Master/Slave enables/disables the onboard controller).

Works just fine, they are backwards compatable. The bummer is if you have a full size case and need to reach to the upper ZONE of the BOX. Then you can run into LENGTH limitations...hmmm for your computer that is http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
