Just in case any of you missed this one, I thought it exceptionally funny (although it's probably because I utterly despise the woman).

Top Ten Janet Reno Pet Peeves
------------------------------------

10. Having to brush up on Spanish just to read hate mail.
9. Armed troops + civilian resistance = Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork.
8. In the Elian TV movie, she'll likely be played by John Lithgow.
7. When she gets angry, she turns green and muscles burst through clothes just dry-cleaned.
6. No one believes, "It was a chocolate gun pointed at Elian's head."
5. Whenever she calls "Playboy" and offers to pose, Hefner's "in a meeting."
4. Saying, "It's the tear gas" when crying at "Erin Brockovich."
3. When Lenscrafters runs out of gigantic, outdated, poorly-fitted frames.
2. Men who feel inadequate when she brings battering ram into bedroom.
1. Constant political pressure to reunite Hall and Oates.

So let me guess... Your biggest problem w/ Janet Reno is that she shakes so much that you keep falling out of bed.

she is a huge ape. I think SNL portrayed her the best, as a psychotic freak.

You forgot her #1 pet peeve - the Constitution of the United States. In particular the first, second, and fourth amendments.

Very true Dave. Problem is, that one's not funny...in fact it scares the hell out of me.

Sorry Barry, but you are completely wrong. The 11th district court spelled out the law which was violated by Reno's INS goon squad.

According to the court, the custody of the boy was given to the boy's uncle (fathers brother) until a family court could hear the matter. The case still has not been to a family court. The INS is the agency that ordeded the family to give up the boy. But guess what...the INS does not make the laws of this country. Although it seems they think they do. It also seems that they might very well be above the law.

Anyone with half a brain or even an ounce of knowledge about pre-WWII European history ought to be very alarmed, to say the least.

The fate of little Elian is the least of our concerns, however the actions of our government should be of great concern.

American citizens, I beg of you...WAKE UP!

I've typed 4 different versions of what I want to say, but none of them come out strong enough.. So I will just say this.

The US Government did so many WRONG things in this whole case, that everything is just.. Well, screwed up.

It almost seems as if whoever is in charge, gives no thought into the decisions that affect how this case is dealt with.

I'm glad the fiasco is over... BY ANY MEANS
The kid shoulda been put back on the boat the day he got here. He's no citizen on MY country and doesn't belong here. Look how much BS was created. And anyone displaying any other flag than the Stars and Stripes should go packing with him!!!!!!!!

Personally, I don't blame them for not showing the Stars & Stripes. In my 32 years of life as an American, this is one of the very few times I feel completely ashamed of my country.

And what was that Pickel?..."by any means"...do you even have any idea of what you speak, or are you just overflowing with ignorance?

The courts ordered the boy be returned to his father. He must remain here until the matter of polical asylum is decided. That will be a decision made in the courts and not by public opinion. Therefore it serves no purpose to resort to name calling and bashing.

Personally, I run Out-of-Patience w/ people whose opinions are contrary, only for the sake of being contrary.

Outpatient: Illegal Aliens have NO RIGHTS here. Those harboring Illegal aliens are criminals and the INF, local police , border patrol are within their LEGAL right to effect their removal by ANY MEANS as stated
in U.S Constitution. Ask the Mexican and Chinese folks who are sent packing everyday. They are no different than that little kid. My Grandparents came here , went thru Ellis Island ,worked hard and made a new life. Illegal aliens are killing communities and making life hard for our natural born citizens and I think that sucks. You can see it in Miss. and it's pathetic. Let them make the proper applicatins and live with the fact that they have a chance like all the other people trying to get ot live here and not sneaking in and ruining the whole thing for others. And, like I said, Fly our flag, Which many of my friends died for or get the __uk
out of MY COUNTRY. Where were you during the war??How many funerals did you go to??? How many body parts did you see missing on the guys you grew up with. ANY MEANS

Pickel, you're totally contradicting youself. You say you're pro-U.S. and 'your friends died for this country', yet it's perfectly ok with you to trample the Constitution, probably the single most important document that binds OUR country together. I'm sure our forefathers are rolling over in their graves right now.

Also, by your logic your grandparents should've been booted back to where they came from.

And Bruno, you are so very wrong I'm not even gonna waste my time.

Outpatient: Obviously you have a different Constitution than the U.S. Constitution.
Illegal Aliens do not insure domsetic tranquility, they cause problems and take
from our Teasury, cause untold problems, and should be sent back to where they came from by ANY MEANS available by law enforcement. That's the LAW, whether you like it or not.

Thinking about the rights of the various types of people found on U.S. soil: citizens, noncitizens, legal and illegal immigrants, tourists, terrorists...

Question about Waco: did the Davidians seek to secede from the U.S. or not be a part of the U.S.? Or were they just protesters?

Could I, by myself, secede from the U.S. or declare myself a non-citizen of it or any country? Or is simply every person born on American land a U.S. citizen by default until they declare citizenship elsewhere? And if I could secede, could the state eradicate me like a bug on the wall, especially since I would have no other supporting country or power to protest?
Or would the U.S. officially have to declare war on me before it destroyed me?

Does a terrorist or rebel still have rights?
How about a peaceful protester? How about criminals, who deny the law?
(imagine removing the protection of the law from those who refused to follow it: such that the properties of thieves were no longer protected by the law; and murderers were fair game for anyone who wanted to take a shot at them!)

I'm not trying to make any points here: I just don't know.

Outpatient:

I think that the truth is this. You would not be so outraged had this same action taken place w/ a card carryin' N.R.A. Republican in the White House. And, I believe, had that been the case, this scenerio would have been played out the same way, but much sooner.

My heart bleeds for people like Elian, but the Radical-Right makes my *** tired.

Hey Bruno, As a Republican, I can say that the stereotype of conservatives is totally off-track. We as Americans need to take notice when events as these take place, and we need to analyze them to the best of our ability. The direction of the country depends on what the people know, or think they know. Too many people just listen to the news and believe what is said without questioning it. We need to be thankful for Elian because he has opened many eyes to the criminal acts of this administration. If the lawmakers do not have to follow the same rules we do, then we are allowing them to rule us instead of govern us.

And taking a dump makes my *** tired. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Bruno, you shouldn't assume. We all know what it makes out out 'u' and 'me' (but especially 'u').

Fact: I'm a card carrying Libertarian (look it up if you must)

Fact: I don't listen to Rush (but don't have anything against him either)

Opinion: Once again, replying to you really seems to be a waste of my time.

Perhaps you should look up some of the facts about the court decisions that have been handed down in the Elian matter. Don't spew B.S. and try to pass it off as knowlegable information.

BTW, the definition of the word libertarian is a paradox when taken in the context of your political position.

Nuff said,
See ya at the Gun Show Boys...

i watched thr whole thing on live unedited tv WSVN . what happened is not what is being reported now the journalst are scared of the people in Miami. they saw what happened to the reporters that did not place a positive slant on the side of the protesters.also in Miami 400 people per year are shot and killed, every week 100 illeagle guns are confiscated. my son,who is a deputy sherriff in s.Fla.,with a degree in criminal justica,a graduate of the M.P. school in Ft. Leanordwood,Mo. said to have carried out the operation any other way in the circumstances would have been stupid and reason for termination for the supervisors.

what would happen if a US child was in another country whose political beliefs were different than ours? The gov't would not have thought twice about sending in the **** marines or something else more drastic. I think our gov't has a big head and they don't think twice. When i woke up and got the paper showing that pic of the soldier pointing his semi-auto gun at them, I thought that was rediculous and I was embarrased to call myself an american.
Many countries of the world already do not like us, lets just enforce that in them. How secure was this raid anyways that a free-lance reporter could sneak into the house.
I think if a couple of black-tie gov't workers--or even some local cops--would have shown up with a warrant or something, they could have done the same thing. Send the kid back to Cuba...he is not an american citizen. his lifestyle back home is of no concern to me.

the photo was edited from tape shot by a pool cameraman that was allowed inside to document what happened.which is why you dont believe everything you see on video tape. barry

Barry: Wrong.

The photo was a still shot taken by an AP photographer who was in the house before the raid. There was a video cameraman in the house, but he was immediately shoved down and out of the way by stormtroopers.

That pesky Constitution is SUCH a bother.
