The motherboard manual says it can handle up to 768mb. I currently have 128mb and when I tried to add another 256mb my system slowed down more than when I had the 128 alone. The ram company says that my motherboard might not have a sufficient cache and the motherboard company said that the ram must be of the same brand and size. has anyone encountered this problem? and if so is there a way around it?

Hi FB,
You may find the answer to your question at www.soyousa.com. (http://www.soyousa.com.) There are several revisions to your particular board. In one revision, the DIMM slots must be loaded in reverse order...3, 2, 1. You may also discover some similar peculiarity with the rev. of the mobo you own.
Good Luck,

edalha,
I have tried several combinations of my ram.
one was the 256 chip in slot three and the 128 chip in slot two. The 256 chip alone. And the 128 in slot three and 256 in slot two
so far the best combination is the 128 alone.
