Hey there everybody! Im going to take the plunge and go back to AMD. I've read reviews and haunted forums all over the net this week in preperation for this. I'm going to buy a KT7E, 1 Gig(I love the sound of that!)step.AVIA-Y or AXIA-Y Athlon. All the reports say that it will OC up to 1.45 Gig. This board is 100/200 FSB but all indications are that it will do 133/266 FSB. If everything holds correct this will be a monster! Am I correct in my assumption that I have to get the 100/200 FSB CPU then OC it as opposed to getting the 133/266 unit? I think Im also going to get the TaiSol CGK742092 HSF. This unit seems to be at the top of all the reviews for both cooling and quietness. Any advice is greatly appreciated before I do this!!Thanx tons...Steve

Both CPU types will work great in the KT7E. If you get the B code 200 CPU you will have to O/C it to get to the 133/266 mark. Some prefer to do it that way to save a few bucks compared to the C code 266 chips. The mobo was tested by VIAHardware and ran at a 145mhz fsb. So overclocking it should be no problem. I would suggest getting the newer TaiSol CGK760092. It has a copper insert on the bottom for improved cooling.

^BUMP^ Anybody else want to comment before I go and drop $300? Thanks....Steve http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
Well, the hot season we're getting into, a couple fans for the case would help for your overclocking venture! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
Also make sure your power supply can hack it...
Oh, and just one more thing... Don't forget to ask for your receipt! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
