I got the exact same characters in a letter a week or so ago. I was checking my external mail from a yahoo account. When I got back home and pulled it up on Outlook Express, the letter came up fine with no odd characters...

Someone I know had the same message whenever I sent him mail in HTML (OE5 to Netscape Mail). Try re-sending using Plain Text.
Not sure what caused it or how to fix, but it's probably not a virus.

Ya know, I got those same characters in an e-mail message a few days ago. Right at the top of the message. Replying to that message would cause my machine to blue screen....I'd love to know what that is or what causes it..

Actually it is an encrypted message. It means, "You're ugly and your feet stink. May your Yak and computer both die a horrible death."
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Hope it's not viral.

Well, I've got AVP (Antiviral Toolkit Pro) running and it didn't spot anything.

Been out for a while, thanks. lol, my yak huh? You're too late for that, my HP Pavillaturd has passed on to the great ground wire in the earth, may it's electrons rest in peace. On the Mail prob's, me and Pickel had a real time trying to connect, a lot of other folks had difficulty at that time also.. In Feb 2000. That's when the HP croaked, an on-line visit to the HP Forum saw many other's who had similar symptoms. Makes me wonder if some y2k glitch finally caught up with them ?? DrVette
