I didn't know that Abit had a Windows based Bios flash program. The only one I've seen from them is a DOS based program (actually it is from Award who supplies most of Abit's Bios programs). One the other hand Via has a Windows based application for updating the South brige controller chip-set. BTW, where did you find the Windows-based application for Bios upgrades??

Thanks

I got it from here. (http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kt7/faqdownloads.html)

ABIT's new Windows based BIOS flashing utility. This is still deeply beta and not recommended. You run a high risk of destroying your BIOS.

A word of warning, DON't USE THIS PROGRAM!!!! It trashed my BIOS but I was able to flash them back from a backup I made.

jad1097 -
Do not use that utility to flash the bios. Abit does not recomend using it. It was a beta program that some have tried and had nothing but problems. You should flash from a pure DOS enviroment only and use the runme command. It's simple and easy.

(My bad! I didn't read your second post)
