Whenever I switch on my comp it doesn't boot & at the bios check gives the error message
that the bios date & time are not set. When I go to bios setup the date reads 1st jan 1997. on changing the date time, & exiting after saving the changes the comp boots.
But the same error message is encoutered when it's booted again.
SUM UP bios setting don't stay.
What's the problem & how do you fix it??
It's my first message to any thing like this so will be really greatful if something can come out of this. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Sounds like you might need a CMOS battery replacement. What mainboard do you have? There are older mainboards that don't let you replace the CMOS battery without some cutting and soldering.

Most likely the battery powering your RTC ( Real Time Clock) circuit is low. You will need your system or motherboard manual to determine type of battery needed for replacement.

If you need further help include your system specs.

Good luck.
