er, I just ordered all the components it will here in a few days. I am reading up on what to expect and one hang up I have seen is the S.O may be to big / capacitors, I'm sure those of you with this mobo are familiar. Anyway I read you can file a section of the orb away to make it fit or
(yikes) bend those capacitors to comply. Question: Is anyone using this on there chip and if so what(if any) work arounds did you apply?

Yes, you do have to modify the orb. I had to remove 3/8" up the fins and 1/4" deep off of 8 fins to clear the caps, as bending them was not an option.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

1/4" Deep, sheesh, that seems deep. Guess I'll find out how big that sucker is later this week. Once on is it stable on the chip or is it to much fan for the clip? I have heard good things, but I hate to "rig" it up but if its a simple case of capacitors in the way only I dont see why not.

Computerhead...."Mini super orb" works great. I filed nothing, and am running super cool with it. Don't let the word mini scare you....It's rated good to 1500mhz. Here's a good link.......http://www.3dcool.com/orderusa.shtml The clip was a little stiff the first few times I used mine, and it doesn't just snap on the KT7A with those resistors, but it's a great fan, and fairly quiet.

Im using a Super on a KT7---a Dremel was neccessary to make fit...took 5 mins...
OOOPS made a mistake---it fit fine without a prob on my KT7 it was on my A7V that I had to trim a couple fins...

I have a Super Orb on my KT7-RAID, and had no problems making it fit. I just set it in place right next to the caps and pushed the clip down with a small screwdriver (careful, don't slip) to engage the pins. Then just clip the other side down normally. The main problem seems to be if you tip the cooler to get the clip engaged on the capacitor side of the socket.

Looks like this is going to be fun. Thanks for the heads up every one. It seems I have been reading true info, as I have heard dremel/file/bend and the just put it straight and carefull... I prob. should have gone with the mini--but I am rather embarrassed to say, I researched it out but somehow overlooked or missed this one and have already ordered it and its coming so I might as well use it..I'll let you all know what I run into later this week. Oh yea..
heres the sys I am building.
