is there a better choice than Abit SA6_Raid

im wanting to build a PIII 1gig machine for gaming (intel is my only for me)

would i be going wrong for useing Abit's SA6/Raid
Win98se
ATI Radeon 64
maxtor ata100
sound blaster x-gamer

1. do i need the Raid and would it be to much trouble for me to get up n runing i really dont know much about Raid but i will do some research on the subject

2. i noticed that the SA6 has onboard sound is that a problem to disable

3. if you can tell me of a better mobo please do. if you leave no other info i'd at least like imput on that

I hope you get some responces. I am thinking of building one next month my self. I have a BE6-2 right now. I'm going to give it to my girl for colledge. It has a P-3 933 in it now. But when she gets it. I'll put her P-3 667 in it. I do have raid on this board. I set it up about a month ago. It is nice. I ran on a single drive for about 5 months. I won't go back to a single agin.
I'll keep an eye on this tread to see what you turn up.
