4000532 Motherboard

I have a 4000532 Slot 1 MB, which I have since solved the previous problem I had. Now the problem is the onboard battery....when I switch on the computer with the battery installed, it shuts down immediately, but operates perfectly with the battery removed (Except for losing all BIOS settings) Any suggestions from the gurus?

First off is the battery you are using any good? It should be battery type CR2032 if you need to replace it. Just out of curiosity, do the BIOS settings hold on a warm boot? If so the problem sounds like it's merely a bad battery, if not it's likely a bad mobo.
