hey kids ...
i was wondering if any of you have ever used the gnutella program. i've started using it recently for mp3's and it seems like a pretty nifty program. it is similar program to napster, except that instead of connecting to a central server, you act as your own independant server.
you can check it out at this page (http://listen.to/gnutella) if you've never heard of it. for those that have used it, any comments?

I have fiddled with it from time to time and it hasn't impressed me. I am sticking with Napster. With gnutella, I had a hard time connectiong to get anything to connect to. I think it disagrees with ZA alot more then Napster does.

While I'm here; can you guys tell me how to get rid of the buzz I'm getting in my mp3 downloads? I just downloaded Napster today and am quite ignorant about it. I fear that it may be my telephone lines. It sounds like the same buzz I get when using dialpad for calls.

bruno ...
i have a program that you run against a 'corrupted' mp3 and it will clean it up. it seems to work pretty good. email me if you want the program, it's very small. i'm not sure if it'll fix your problem, but it's worth a shot.

There is another file sharing program called Cute MX, made by the same folks who made Cute FTP.

I like gnutella, there are a few tricks to it
like opening several servers to get a good choice, then shut them all down except the one you are downloading from, but on the whole, I find newsgroups are the best and fastest mp3 resource.
