i am in the process of doing my hw in gettign a new motherboard and cpu, iam going with an athlon. ok my question is-is there really a cheap MB? will it hurt o get something a lttle less cheaper? what will be the cheapest mb and worst? well this is a few if ya can handle the questions the answer will really help me. i would liketo save money, and get a mb/cpu combo, but i see that they have low end MB, but since i am nto sure how this will effect performance i come to the experts, YOU's.

These guys have the Abit KT7A mobo for $125 plus $10 shipping, and the 900 Thunderbird for $110 plus $5 shipping. $240 total with shipping for mobo and processor sounds good to me.

I don't think you will find a better deal, and they may even knock a little more off the shipping if you order them together.

Tyan, MSI, and Soyo are one the cheap side but they are good brands.
