I have a 20Gig HD, but the WIN98SE is seeing 2Gigs. I thought I would update the BIOS or something. After I download a new BIOS how do I install it. I thought I ran across a site where you can download BIOS for the MOBOs. I'm a novice and this is all touch and go. Has anyone else ever had this problem. Yes I installed the HD myself :-)
I am all ears and any help in the right direction and I'm off and running.

Thanks - Henry

Henry...

Try the mobo web site. Everyone that I have been to will give you bios flash instructions.

Also when you ran fdisk(I'm assuming it was new?) on the drive did you answer "Yes" to enable large drives? Also did you set the 1 active partition to use ALL the available space?

Thanks for the info, but I do not this it is a BIOS problem. When I do FDisk I get the following info: Status=A; Type= Prim Dos; Megabyte=19085; System=FAT32; Usage=19085
In the Bios setup, CMOS read: Size=20020;Cycl=2586; HD 240; Precomp=65535;Landz=38791; Sector=63; Mode=Large (I have changed "mode" to LBA, AUTO,Normal,&Large)
When the system boots and display the CMOS the HD is listed as 20020, DMA2, etc. Everything appears to be normal. Win98SE loads w/o and problems. When I check in "Accessories/System Tools/Drive Space I get the following reading: Drive C no compress; Free Space=2.00GB; Used space=0K; Capacity=2.00GB.
I am concluding that the BIOS is setup and reading correctly, but the OpSystem is not reading it correctly?? Is that possible?? Is it possible that Win98SE is not reading the BIOS info or something???
And this HD is partition as "Primary Dos" vs "Logical" in the FDisk settings. What that have anything to do with it???
I sure would like to get to the bottom of this.

Thanks - Henry

It's normal. I thought for a while you were looking at the drive properties, but then I saw you were using DriveSpace. Instead of that, open My Computer, right-click on your C: drive, and hit Properties. You'll get a much more accurate picture.

I opened DriveSpace and got the same thing, 0MB used and 2.00MB free. Think it's maybe time for M$ to update that?

Thanks Bryan,
You are right, everything is fine. Yes MS should do something about that DriveSpace update
