I'm not sure of the popularity of the breed, but Corgies are real fun/funny dogs. If you don't have a Corgie, then lets see your dog anyway. All dogs are good dogs http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.
Here's my Corgie Daisy

Real nice Pemby there Megabyte, my hound is a Cardy, real softy, lost his sister a few months ago, she loved water could never keep here out, the one we have left is chicken when it comes to water won't even get his tum wet, and as you know with Corgies that ain't very deep water.
Worst is when you have two, they terrorise any other dog, as they always split up and come in on it from different directions and take their legs out.
Also make good watch dogs, they make a lot of noise, and are very agreasive till you are with them, but real stupid with the kids of the family, I think they are very underated as a breed, but then again most people see the ones that go around with Queen Beth.

Thanks WW, I'm sorry to hear about your loss http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif. Its real easy to get too atached to these hounds. Daisy is my first Corgie and I must say she is a real intellegent dog. She isn't really into getting in the water, but she sure loves to herd the ducks. I think they were bred for herding sheep or something. As far as the kids go, she is a real kid lover. The only problem there is she might knock one down occasionaly. Overall not a bad dog to have.

I am lucky to have my dog (cat). Last night he got into a fight with a German Sheppard. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif I thought I was going to watch my dog (cat) get eaten right in front of my eyes. But my dog (cat, Amadeus) outsmarted the Sheppard and got away with only a broken foot. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif I wish I would have been close enough to stop it. MB, that is a good-lookin dawg.

That is a very cute Corgie you have there Megabyte. I just hope she doesn't have a drinking problem like the Queen's did. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Like you Megabyte i love mutts so i asked members to Show us your mutts (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/005203.html) a while back, you may want to take a look.
Edit - Unfortunatley my mutt Chance (staffordshire bull terrier) seems a bit shy on that thread so anyone wanting to see him check his photo at my web site (http://sharpy.cjb.net).
