My old 56K Cirrus Logic Chipset Modem Used To Connect At 44,000-45,000 bps.I Bought A New 56K/V.90 Rockwell Chipset Today,And All I Can Get Out Of It Is 28,000.What Can I Do To Fix This?

ok,what is the new modem?what was the old modem?What modem protocols does your isp support?Might be able to help more with this info.

Hi,
The old modem was probably K56Flex, and the new one probably doesn't support the older standard (k56flex).
Tne ISP may not support V.90 yet (strange) and the new modem is forced to use V.34 (fastest speed is 33.6).

Yup, that was what I was thinking also.But it also could be a bad flash in the modem itself,had this happen before.

You might have to download new drivers for your modem. Goto your manufacter's webpage.
