I was given 2 mobos, told they were good, when I try to power them up with the basics, they have no power.
I'd like to get them going, one has a 600 or more MHz capability.
Am I overlooking something, other times using the same setup a this time they worked?!
Could power supply be a problem? (meaning- no powerful enough?)
Or grounding that I am overlooking?

Have you tried just laying the board on the anti-static bag, magazine, etc and connecting the cable and powering it up? Highly likely it's grounded! If you don't have the fiber washers, use vinyl notebook paper rings! You know the rings you put on paper when the holes tear out of the binder http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif The vinyl ones work good! I put two on the bottom side of the board on each hole, no more shorts http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

That's how I tried to power them up, on a hard piece of quarter inch foam. Non-conductive! Maybe they are bunk mobos! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
When I need washer I slice eight inch pieces if hot glue sticks and drill a hole thru the middle, that has worked great! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
