System burn in...what does it mean

I just ordered a new K7T Turbo R and Duron 850 to upgrade my system. I plan on running this straight up. No overclocking etc, as many defaults as possible. I've heard that you're supposed to "burn in" a system for about 24 hrs. What does this mean? What special precautions do I need to implement? I don't want to make any preventable faux-pas'... Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks in advance
