Rogowski 03-13-2001, 07:55 AM I heard about the possibility to run a Celeron 700 on the BX6-II, but the newest bios-update I can find is the QR which supports only a Celeron 633 as far as I know. Everyone who knows more about it ? Roy 03-13-2001, 09:41 AM When they say "support" they mean "automatically recognize". You can run other processors through use of the manual settings that are available. The multiplier setting is moot because Intel locks it within the CPU. I'm pretty sure the voltage is not a problem. Rogowski 03-13-2001, 11:58 AM So does anybody know what the multiplier is for a celeron 700 ? 10,6060 seems very strange to me. I'm sure too that the voltage won't be a problem. But what can I do anymore, when I put a Celeron 700 with the multiplier 10,60 onto my board ? When I choose 66Mhz FSB it would be recognized as a 700Mzh CPU, wouldn't it ? DanU 03-14-2001, 01:45 AM The celeron 700 uses a 10.5X multiplier and a 66MHz bus, not a 10.6 muliplier. As Roy said, this multiplier is locked and cannot be changed no matter what you do. You could set the multiplier in the BIOS to anything you want. The celeron 700 will ignore it and function at 10.5X. Just set the bus to 66MHz and plug it into the slot using a slotket adapter. Then set the voltage to the correct setting in the bios and it should run without any problems. erale 03-19-2001, 06:58 PM Rogowski, I'm running a P3-700mhz on the BX6-II board and it is overclocked to 868mhz. I've had no problems with it to date. I'm also running the version of BIOS before QR. I have the QR update but haven't flashed it yet. Take a look at the spec's in my version of WCPUID below.
