Hello,
I intend to build a new computer, intent to get a AMD, Duron or TB, 700-800Mhz,( not decided yet which one I should get,) and intend to do some over clocking experience,
(Appreciate any comment on Duron and TB).
But I don't know what MoBo to buy,
I do not play game at all, do some graphic design, not heavy stuff, and like to use my
All in wonder sound card that I have.
I am thinking to go with one of this All in one MoBo,
But I don't know if these are easy to work with when it comes to O.C.,
If they are good, which brand name is better, Elite?
Soyo? PC chip?.....??
Does anyone use one of these All in one MoBo for OC, and having good result?
Appreciate any help on this.
Thanks,
Manou

Look at the mobos at www.motherboards.com. (http://www.motherboards.com.) I just purchased an Iwill for my 1.2 GHz T-Bird, which I do not intend to overclock. I did purchase an Aopen card that has lots of optios for oc'ing for a different chip, but that board may be strictly Intel. Look at www.overclockers.com (http://www.overclockers.com) as well and research it out. Also check out the Overclocking forum here. There are so many opinions out and they change every day! Sometimes I feel that after awhile, narrow it down to a couple choices then flip a coin. Agonizing can be tiresome. Good luck.

Man, you sure have that right. Just about the time I think I have made my decision, here comes more stuff to be considered. The mobo manufacturers are revising their boards faster than we can decide which one is better.

I think I will just flip the ole coin, but not even look at it, and go with the gut feeling LOL...

The Epox 8KTA-3 is a great choice for the cost. Awesome overclocking board and top of the line features as 160.00+ boards. www.z-buy.com (http://www.z-buy.com) has them for 121.00 shipped!

I just bought an Epox 8KTA3 board after years of having "all in one boards". The Epox is great and overclocks well. The boards with onboard sound & video are good boards if you want to build a decent system cheap but don't need high end video for gaming. BUT these boards with onboard sound & video DO NOT OVERCLOCK well or not at all.

Howdy guys. Elroy, I beg to differ with you about boards with onboard sound / video not O/Cing well. The Iwill KK266 has very good onboard sound, and is one of the very best O/Cing boards out. As with all of the new KT133a boards, Iwill also has some problems...but I just read at another forun where Iwill has found and replaced a chip on their board that will correct the latest round of glitches. My humble opinion is, this new KT133a chipset, especially the 686B southbridge, may be a little immature yet, and needs some growing up before they will be good, work every time boards.

Please read here about one review of the Iwill entry...then go to the main page to read bout the glitch fix...

I'd say go with the Asus A7V or its variants. Its a great board; it has 2 IDE and 2 ATA controllers, not 1 IDE port doubles as an ATA like most. And get the Thunderbird. The TB/Duron issue is the same as the Pentium/Celeron with Intel's processors.
