You're right about not gaining any memory speed performance from the PC-133. However, it ought to live peacefully with what you have in there. I've mixed and matched recently on a 440-BX chipset board with no ill effects. Heck, the PC-133 is so cheap, I might as well "future proof" myself while the getting is good.

Yes, you can use it in the SE440BX-2 as long as it's an unbuffered (http://www.crucial.com/library/glossary.asp#U) memory module. The other qualifier is that it must use the same error checking as your existing memory. In otherwords, if your current memory is "non-parity" the 256MB stick must also be "non-parity", if the existing memory is "ECC", then the new module must also be "ECC" The Seattle2 board will accept either, but not both.
What does "registered" SDRAM mean? (http://support.crucial.com/scripts/crucial.exe/solution?11=001018-0003&130=000971881378&14=&2715=&15=&2716=&57=faq&58=&2900=oBnhFon7eB&25=-1)

Hi I just picked up a stick of pc133 256 ram. It was on sale for 100$. Well my question is can I use it in my my current mobo? I have 2 sticks of pc100 128ram in it now. I have looked at intel and they no longer support the board. I have looked in the manual and don't understand what I am reading.
Here is what I found at intel.
"Memory configurations
The SE440BX-2 motherboard has three dual in-line memory module (DIMM) sockets that support SDRAM DIMMs. Memory can be installed in one, two, or all three of the DIMM sockets. The minimum memory size is 16 MB and the maximum memory size is 768 MB with 256 MB DIMMs using 128 Mbit technology parts. Memory size and speed can vary between sockets. This means 100 MHz DIMMs and 66 MHz DIMMs can be installed on the same motherboard.
Note: Processors with 66 MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) can be paired with either 66 MHz or 100 MHz SDRAM DIMMs. Processors with 100 MHz FSB should only be paired with 100 MHz SDRAM DIMMS"
I understand that i will gain nothing by using pc133. That the pc100 will bring it down to its level.
I havent opend it up yet so I can return it if i need to do so.
Any input would be great.
