I am the administrator for a medium-sized network in Columbia, SC, and recently (before I came to work here), several Compaq Deskpro EX series PCs were purchased. Since I started, I have had several complaints regarding system time becoming up to 4 hours slow over the course of an 8 hour workday and screens flickering on and off. I would normally attribute the system time being off to a bad battery, but for 5-6 of these workstations, that seems a bit absurd. Any ideas? Has Compaq released a bad batch of Deskpros in the last six months?

I would definetly say that would be from the result of a bad battery or motherboard.

It's most likely that you probely have a batch of deskpros that have bad cmos batteries because hey it is compaq.

You could either replace the batteries or send the computers back under warranty but I take from your response that these computers are needed right away so try replacing the batteries.
