I had a major problem trying to set up RAID0 on my 2 new Quantum Fireball AS+ 40Gig drives. The solution is to get the freaking internal IDE ZIP drive disconnected from the system while you do your WIN98SE installation. No RAID drives shown after booting from WIN98SE startup floppy disk. I pulled my hair out for 2 days fighting this. Worked just fine after removing the ZIP100 drive. You can put it back on and use it after installing Windows if you don't have to boot from floppy disk to do anything. I had to take it back off to install a firmware upgrade to my CR/RW. If it is on, then the WIN98SE boot disk sees no RAID100 disk drives!! I have sent a report to Iwill tech support.

Thanks for the report. But, please tell us where the zip drive was connected. To the second Raid header or an IDE header. I have been informed that the raid headers only see IDE hard drives... no cdr or cd rw or zip drives, ect.

The ZIP100 internal was connected to the secondary standard IDE connector. Makes no difference if it is master or slave. I have not tried it on the Primary port. Only thing connected to RAID100 connectors is the 2ea Quantum 40's. I had a hard drive on the Primary master IDE port for a while and when I booted from floppy, this drive was OK but still no RAID100 drives.
