The bottom line is that threads will live or die at our discretion. We rarely close threads, however. If you don't like that, leave. Maybe it would be more simple for me to say that "dumb" threads are more likely to be closed that interesting ones.

Start by reading my comments about an off-topic forum and supposed "off topic" posts in General Discussion here: http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/005818.html

Interesting and fun is good all the time here in General Discussion... even if it has to do with NOTHING AT ALL with technology OR EVER WILL. General Discussion means just that - a general discussion. Besides, even if stuff ends up getting a lock, it's usually just because it ended up going on too long and just got old (look at the hmmmmm thread if you need proof).

If you don't like that, remember that posting and reading stuff here is optional... you don't have to.

Just quit posting "hey you idiots, this is off topic so lock it" junk. Take it somewhere else cuz we sure don't want it here.
