i was given a motherboard . it is an intel
aa720940-208.
can any one tell what it is .

what size chip ,etc

It would be very helpful if you could include information: what type CPU it uses, ALI/VIA/? chipset, SIMM/DIMM or both RAM types capable, AGP?, # of PCI/ISA slots, whatever you see...

Jrbach is right, we will need more information. I searched metacrawler, intel, and motherboards.org about the part number and they didn't have it. Is that a BIOS string ID? Most intel boards have names (al440 Alaska, se440bx seattle, etc.)

the board has 3 dimm slots
it is a slot 1
4 pci slots
2agp
it is an intel board where would i find other id

BIOS string ID would be quite helpful here, or at least a chipset ID, but motherboards.org says it's a SE440BX. It'll probably have onboard sound. Those are semi-good boards, as Intel boards go, they'll take a P3.
