im was going to use an amd 586 133 -p75 on an vl/i486sv2gx4 but i need to change jumpers 32 and 33 but the motherboard does not have them, it only has up to 27, is there another way?..... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

I had that same problem with the same motherboard. I figure that since the jumpers weren't there, I was fine.

2 boots later, my 3.3v 486 DX4 is now in two pieces.

moral: Keep looking. If the jumpers aren't there, you are going to have to find either a converter for 5v -> 3.3v or a 5v DX4.

in regards to the VL/I-486svgx4 jumpers 32 and 33 are for voltage settings. try this setting jp16- 1-2,5-6 short for Wt,jp17-1-2,5-6 short, jp18- 1-2 short, jp19- 1-2,3-4,5-6 short jp20-all open for 3xclk {1-2short for 4x clk] jp21 2-3 short for WT jp22 1-2,4-5 short { setting for AM5x86-p75} {x5-133MHz}
