OK, give em a break.. After all what mfg's of computers have an on-line forum for users to go for the problems inherent with Win's operating systems. The majority of problems that I've seen with HP products is the users adding tons of "freeware" and then wondering why it causes conflicts. Sure HP and others don't give you a ton of info as how to o/c but the jumper settings are marked on the mobo. If you are gonna jump on some computer maker, gang up on Compaq. The design that has the critical start info written on the first section of the hard drive is a good way to keep most from upgrading. As far as working for HP goes, if they are like most corporations, the quality of your work is less important than the ability to kiss ****..

My gripe is with the price you've gotta pay for tech support after the 1 year warranty is over with. I didn't have the problem with you (never will - don't buy HP...no offense http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif), my grandparents did. They were told to pay $25 for a telephone call with a techie that may or may not help them. That's poor service.

They could definitely spring for some toll-free service numbers.
