Emachine MotherF-ingBoard help

Does anyone know what kind of board these cheap @ss Comps use? I need to replace one for someone here at work but not sure (haven't even seen this thing yet) what kinda board it is. Micro, Video, Modem, Audio? Dunno. It is like a celeron 466.

Check for yourself before declaring it dead.

The case on the E-machine has indentions in the top which prevents using another Power supply.

The stock 120-145 watt PS is probably too wimpy to drive much..
maybe if the system has NO optional fans, burners etc , It MIGHT work with the stock ps..

There have been other posts here regarding e-machines and the mobo, do a search..

my niece has one with onboard vid and sound, it looks similar to a late model packard bell. if i were changing the mobo, i'd get a new case and use a better mobo, the only prob there is that the restore disk will no longer work since the mobo is not an e-machines product. if you want the restore disk to work with the new mobo, you will have to get a replacement mobo from e-machines.

Its probably one of the fabulous "Tri-gem" models they like to use, yer at there mercy for a replacement and it most likely wont be cheap...

That is what I was afraid of. I am already building him another machine but he wanted to have another pc for his daughter. But I will just have to give him the bad news.
BTW the problem he was having was it was only seeing 10mb of memory. He has 2 mem sticks and both are 32MB and had tried each one and both but all he had recogonized was 10mb no matter what he tried.
