DFI K6BV3+/66 Bios won't flash

Normally a great board, this one is quirky. I'm trying to flash the bios to correct a shut down logo display problem and a Com2 not detected problem. This board has a 99 Bios revision and I'm trying to flash to more recent version (04-12-00). The flash utility will run, but there are numerous Write Fail errors, and the old bios remains. The computer reboots fine after the failed flash. I have retried with different switches, double checked the filename and versions, downloaded and used the most recent Award Flash Utility and looked for any info relating to this problem. Any ideas??

I had that board and flashing looks like a mess , maybe buy a bios chip, be carefull if you flash it wrong you will have no more board left,maybe leave it as is?

take out small battery on motherboard and replace it ,could be weak, then reset or clear it with that C switch, that might be whats wrong,
