I have an on-board AGP video 'card' with 8Mb of RAM dedicated from the system's (*@$#* Compaq 7470). While I recognize that the only solution is probably just upgrading with a PCI (no AGP slot) video card, is there perhaps some way of drawing upon the over-abundance of system memory (now 320Mb) and simply allocating more than 8Mb to the existing 'card'? If not, what have you guys/gals been up to? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif Many Thanks for any insights.

I think you're stuck,4 or 8 thats it.
If you want better video you have to
go with a pci card.

The dedicated memory is needed only for the 2D image - what resolution would require more than 8 MBytes?!?
For 3D stuff, it'll automatically go through AGP methods to fetch textures if it needs more space. For an integrated VGA, there is no difference in speed from the access method - be it AGP texture fetch or "dedicated" video RAM, it's all main system RAM.
