I updated my be6-ii "NY" bios to the "UH" bios. Bios update went fine. But it installed the Highpoint controllers and I've been getting bule screen of death in windows every since. I disabled the highpoint controller in bios. Still getting them when I connect to the internet though. So I try to reset the bios with the jumper and taking out the battery. Well the bios reset, but not back to "NY" version, still "UH" just the setting changed to default. Is this what its supposed to do. (Ithought it would go back to the old version).
Anyway, I was still getting BSoD's. So I says screw it, formated C: and proceded to re-install. But wait, now I cant read from the cdrom drive? I could cd to it, but couldn't read from it with any cd. So I install 98 from my second HD. After install windows sees the cdrom, but can't read from it. Anybody got any clues? Bad cdrom? Bad Bios? Bad Andy?
How could this happen 2 days before my brothers lan party?

first in order to set the bios back to the original, u have to download the version u want , and use the awdflash from abit website. after u flash & update the bios ,make sure u turn of the comp. completely & reset the jumper for few seconds & put it back again,U dont have to take the battery out, reboot & go to the bios for the cpu setup
Im using the nz version & i have no problems with it , let us know after this...I use the uh & it gives me headache,,,goodluck

Here's the latest...
I followed the directions on Abit page to update the bios.
Well, I bought a new cdrom and it worked fine. But, after formating and re-installing everything I find that I can't play any 3D games Q3, CS, HL....My TNT2 seems to have blown a circuit. No matter how many times I remove and re-install it and the updated drivers ...nothing, unable to do 3D! Well, no time like the present to grab a GForce 2. I install it and BAM, everything works again. Great card btw.
So WTF happened? Only thing I can think of is that I did clear the cmos (jumper) with just the power turn off, not unpluged.
And I have found one remaining problem....Whenever I turn on the system from a shutdown/power off I get no video. I have to go in and reset the cmos (jumper) (power unpluged of course) then setup bios settings again. Did I fuxor the board?
