What's the difference? Can PC-100 memory be used for one, but not the other? I see the 900 Athlon is cheaper than the 900 T-Bird, so the TBird must be better??
Thanks,
D.M.

Starmaster5 01-31-2001, 01:12 PM Slot A is for the classic Athlons which are SECC, just like the old Pentium 2's and some of the Pentium 3's. PC-100 ram can be used for both of course. The Thunderbirds run on Socket A and is faster than the classic Athlons because of the on-die full speed cache. Don't get a classic slot A Althon and motherboard, these are old with no upgrade path. Spend your money on a Thunderbird and a slot A motherboard by Asus or Abit. magk9 01-31-2001, 02:04 PM Great, that's what I needed to know....Thanks!! dosmastr 02-01-2001, 02:14 PM he means a SOCKET A not slot A SysOpt.com
