Ever since I moved my computer into it's new case I've had a ton of problems. For starters it won't overclock as high anymore. It also crashes and freezes a lot more frequently, even at the un-overclocked speed.

I'm wondering if this might be a grounding problem. I used those paper washer thingies when I screwed the motherboard to the tray. Might that be what's causing the problems? Any other suggestions why the 'puter might not like it's new home? I really don't wanna format and re-install again, I just did it recently, but if that's all that will fix it then so be it.

Hi JeffD78,
The move to a new case may or may not be the problem here. In using a new power supply, it could have something to do with connections, grounding or power (which you should definately check out). More likely though, I would suggest that the problems may be stemming from registry problems. Have you tried using RegClean and then booting to DOS and typing in "Scanreg /fix".
It's very possible that I'm way off base here, or that you have already tried this, but then again, it can't hurt.
Best of luck,

A lot of stability probs are caused by the puters memory.Yesterday I had on myself,I installed magnaram (to increase your memory).Suddenly my PC started crashing.
Mu brother bought 64mb 133FBS memory (already had one) and his PC started to have lockups, and he had to increase his CPU's voltage to make it stable.Maybe this doesn't help you,but maybe you did something like this too, maybe you installed a program that causes the crashes.

Yeah, It probably is the PS, but I gotta say this:

If it keeps crashing all the time, maybe you should put it on a more stable platform(desk)! ROFLMAO!!

Hi Jeff: I never use the paper washers, always thought the board needs to ground to the case. I also think you should check all the connections, make sure the ram chip is in properly. Good luck, reformated once to many time myself.

I removed all the paper washers and rebooted it. Registry was corrupted. So I nuked it and started over. Clean install of Win98SE and Quake II. The essentials. Works fine so far.
