Can anybody explain the terms mentioned in BIOS. I would like to make sense of them all but most of it appears as techno bable. It's not that I can't learn but a url or suggested book would be useful start

actually, the descriptions are actually on your system; go into your bios, select one item a time and hit F1 (help) it will explain the selected item. There different BIOS manufacturers, but one is www.Award.com (http://www.Award.com) . You can find info on their site.

Sometimes they can be a bit vague, I've found the f1 bit will tell u the options to select but sometimes that doesnt actually give u any idea what is likely to happen. (I havnt checked the f1 for a while so maybe the help is better on later boards than it used to be). The manual can sometimes explain briefly what one option is but totally ignore another as if they didnt even know that selection was even in the bios. Maybe as Rat suggested there may be more info on the actual bios site.

There's a news item on this on the home page under news - 1/19 - BIOS tweaking. I would link it but, javascript you know. Take a look.
