im writing this for my dad who has an abit kt7 rait kt133 chipset crutial 133 cas2 ram geeforce2 pro athlon classic 950mhz 1/3 cache divider , this system is very unstable , it crashes all the time , the ram has been changed the cpu has been swaped with a 750 , the graphics card has been swapped but with no avail! windows has been installed many times and it even crashes in linux! i was wondering if any people had any problems with this motherboard. we have also played with all the ram settings and bios settins aswell and installed the via chipset drivers all types

I have the KT7 as well, it was always unstable till i upped the I/O core voltage +0.1 I think it is 3.3 by default. Mine is 3.4 now. Also these boards in my experience seem to be really picky about the kind of Ram you use. I plan on getting some mushkin ram, the link below is exactly what i'm getting for mine)
I've tried 5 or 6 sticks of pc133 ram, and half of them wouldn't run at pc100 speed, much less pc133.

Are you sure you have the KT7. If you do then it cannot be running an Athlon Classic. The KT7 only accepts Socket A CPUs and the Athlon Classic is a Slot A CPU.

Do you mean that you have the KA7?

yeah the ka7 im getting it confused with my own kt7 which is fine!
the board has been tested with all kinds of ram and the micron stuff seems the best i'll try the i/o voltage thing thanx!
