hello, I was told i needed to find out what kind of motherboard i have , so i can figure out what kind of memory i need to put in..(or what it can handle)??? I have no idea , thats why I am here...My motherboard is an "AWARD software inc. #2a5lefcd9" now what I am trying to do is figure out what memory i need a "pc100 or a pc66" and what is the max MB i can add it this? or does it matter? please , talk slow for me so I can understand what you are talking about:-) thanks and have a wonderful day!

Read it and it will be clearer to you.
Your mb is not Award its a BIOS on your MB.
You should have a book with your MB and ther is everthing you wont to know.
What procesor are you runing at he moment and wht RAM do you have at the moment ?
Hi, Tori. Welcome to SysOpt.
Usually the 5th and 6th characters in an Award BIOS string will identify the board maker. Yours appears to be an exception. Award says to look also for information in the line beneath the string.
Press PAUSE when the system first starts and try to find some more numbers, etc. OR, take a peek inside the case and try to find something along the edge of the board.

thanks everyone for the info , guess what , I did find the book on it and i need a 100MHz sdram dimm , hee hee it says it in the book , I'm so happy! Thanks again for everyone who replied! You all are great people ! Keep up the good work in helping others!
