I currently have 64mb of pc100 ram on my QDI Apollo pro 133E motherboard. It will accept pc133. I want to get my system up to 128mb.My cpu is a celeron466(66Mhz) Should I,
a)get another 64mb of pc100?
b)get a 128mb stick of pc100?
c)get a 128mb stick of pc133?
d)buy my wife something nice?

What's the best idea from a performance and future cpu upgrade. Will I get the benefit of pc133 while running a 66Mhz cpu?
Thank You!

If your board supports the pc133 get it.

At least that way you can use it with a future processor upgrades. Also the prices at the minute are very tasty.

All the best, Justy.

Unless you see a significant processor upgrade in your future, the PC133 won't be worth the extra price. It won't make any difference with your 66 CPU. If you do go for a processor, consider a PIII-850/100. It won't OC beyond about 8.5x120=1020MHz, so your existing PC100 and another one like it would serve. The next mobos are likely to make today's SDRAM obsolete. Just my $0.02.

So I'd say go for "a" and use the extra $ for "d" http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
